about us
Ambra is nestled in the heart of Hudson Street in the West Village, an area that has become among the city’s hottest and most trafficked hospitality neighborhoods. The restaurant offers an intimate dining experience with 70 seats, a private dining area inside, and 40 seats outside – designed to feel as though you were dining in a cafe in Italy.
The executive chef is John DeLucie, the name behind famed restaurants like Empire Diner, The Lion, and Waverly Inn. He brings years of experience and a passion for serving exceptional food to Ambra, with a focus on quality from start to finish. The pizza dough is made with flour sourced from Italy, and pasta is made by hand or sourced from Naples.
The dimly lit room has a custom wood installation from floor to ceiling. The bar is also made of wood, with a beautiful handmade marble bar top and an antique mirror. A seasonal live floral installation further enhances what’s become a true Italian experience.
